Acupuncture for pain relief
Acupuncture can be used on occasions to achieve a relaxing effect, particularly on patients who are very nervous.
There are other instances where we may use acupuncture, such as for the relief of jaw joint discomfort, and to reduce the risk of gagging, for example when taking an impression of your teeth.
The process involves the insertion of one small needle, just below the lower lip. Dental acupuncture can have a dramatic effect, particularly on patients who have a highly sensitised palate.
